🏀TDS Spring Asian Open
Week 1
SF Fire (56) v. NJ Sets (50)
TripleDoubleSports is back and we’ve come back even stronger than before! We begin the new Asian Open with two newbies, SF Fire and New Jersey Sets! This is set to be a good one!
New Jersey Sets, former players off the old Eagles and Gamble teams, had a sense of familiarity with one another which allowed them to jump out to an early lead. JP and JC lead the team with 16pts each. Unfortunately Austin, captain of NJ Sets, had some roster problems which limited them to have only 5 players show up for the game! They’re lack of a bench didn’t stop them from having the lead at halftime, 22-16!
SF Fire came out of the gates as cold as the weather outside! The Fire’s team captain, Shant, said that his team were slow starters and he wasn’t kidding! The Fire outscored NJ Sets, 38-27 in the second half! They were led by Arakel Panos, who had a monstrous double-double with 18pts & 14rebs! His partner in crime was another Arakel, Arakel Mardo who’s long range shooting was awesome! He was 5-7 from 3pt range and hit 4 of them in the decisive 3rd quarter! They held onto win the game, 56-50! If this is a sign of things to come then we’re gonna have a competitive season!

Dawgs (66) v. Prodigies (64)
Now we go to two new teams to two veteran teams! These two teams have stuck with TripleDoubleSports from our days back at South City! They may be older but they’ve still got game! So, pitting these two teams, Dawgs and Prodigies, was a must!
The Prodigies came out of the shoot like a rocket ship! They connected on 7-12 fgs in the first quarter, including Torrent Lee’s 2-2 from beyond the arc, to jump ahead of the Dawgs, 21-13! One of the pickups the Prodigies had was Sunny, who lead the team with 21pts. Sean also came up big with 20pts of his own! They went into halftime with a slim 4pt lead, 30-26!
The Dawgs weren’t fazed by the hot start that the Prodigies put forth, as they too had an ace up their sleeves! As the Dawgs entered the fourth quarter, they had been behind by 7pts! So, the my looked to their new member to the Dawgs Family...Georgio Reed! His 13 fourth quarter points led the Dawgs back from the dead! They shot 9-14 fgs (64%) in the quarter to the Prodigies 43%! Dez kept the Dawgs I the game with a game high, 21pts on 7-16 fgs! The Dawgs ended up pulling one out, 66-64!

Bulls (72) v. CCU Ambassadors (68)
Here we have another good matchup between two teams looking to win their first TDS title! In one corner we have the Bulls taking on the CCU Ambassadors! Who will reign supreme?
The CCU Ambassadors we’re back after taking a season off and they were ready to face all comers! Although, they were short a couple of players, CCU was game! They were behind early by 4pts but stayed in the game due to Malcolm and Jeremy combining for 23 first half points! As a team, they combined to shoot 50% (27-54 fgs)! Jeremy led all scorers with 37pts! They were still trailing, 34-30 at the half!
The Bulls were charging! Adding to their 4pt halftime lead, the Bulls were ahead 51-45 headed into the 4th quarter! Led by Wai in the first half (11pts of his team high 13pts), the Bulls nursed their way in the second half of the game! A real team game as they had 4 players score in double figures and another three players scoring at least 7pts! Matching every shot with a shot of heir own. The Bulls shot a very healthy 26-51 fgs (51%)! The Bulls overcame Jeremy’s big day to win a tight battle, 72-68!

Boogie (88) v. Rise (52)
Rise is another new team to come play with TripleDoubleSports! Awaiting them was the Boogie squad! A big test for Rise to show that they belonged with the big boys!
Rise initial game in TDS came with a couple of problems. They opened the game missing their first 5 from long distance and they allowed their opponent to shoot 53% (10-19 fgs)! They were trailing after the first quarter, 24-11! Their bright spots were Adrian and Dev who were able to score a combined 24pts. They were totally mismatched in this contest. They trailed at the half, 42-21!
Boogie was well...Boogie! As a team, Boogie shot 54% connecting on 37-69 field goals! Joe Scott showed up at halftime and promptly lead the team in scoring with 18pts on 6-11 fgs! Ant Navarette came up big with a double -double, 11pts & 12rebs! Boogie had 9 players appear in the game and all nine scored at least a point, with 6 scoring in double figures! They dominated this game from the tip to the final buzzer! In the end, Boogie won the game handily, 88-52!

🏀TDS Asian D3
Week 1
Jackson Arms (51) v. SF Hoopers (49)
TripleDoubleSports Division 3 gets underway with a returning team, Jackson Arms, taking on a new squad in SF Hoopers! Will Jackson Arms be able to show off their guns or will they be taken to the (SF) Hoop(ers)! Lol!
The SF Hoopers are “new” to TDS this year. I say “new” because they’re comprised of players who have been playing in TDS on other teams! The Hoopers were throwing up shots at the goal and they were able to connect on 19-56 fgs (34%)! They struggled a bit from distance only converting on 4-20 3pt field goals (20%). Their leading man was Noah who managed to get a double-double, 15pts & 10rebs! They also got 10 apiece from Wilson and Tone Arce! They trailed at the half, 29-26!
Jackson Arms played a very tough game! This game went into overtime but they had some chances to win the game in regulation but the ball did not find its home! If it wasn’t for the effort put forth by Hansen & Co. this game would have been over! Hansen & Chris combined to score 26pts and Andy was the rim protector with 9rebs (all on defense)! Their shooting was just enough to win! They shot 21-56 fgs (38%) and manages a 51-49 overtime victory!

SF Warriors (74) v. Bangarang (64)
Old versus New was the theme of this game! “Old” (as in time they’ve spent in TDS) was Bangarang trying again to get their first TDS championship took on the “New” SF Warriors! These newbies look to make some noise in their first season! Who will prevail?
Bangarang tried to show their dominance early as they connected on 8 of their first 15 shots (53%) to take an early 5pt advantage! Drew was the leading scorer for Bangarang with 24pts on 8-20 fgs (40%), including 5-15 3pts (33%)! Bangarang had 4 other players score at least 8pts. They had the slimmest of leads at the half, 33-32!
The SF Warriors came into this game not knowing what to expect! They quickly learned. As a team, they shot 29-59 fgs (49%). Alvin Lin was the man today! Scoring at will! His 32pts & 11rebs proved to be to much for Bangarang to handle! Alvin’s running mate was Joe Kim. He dished our a game high 8asts to go along with 11pts! Bangarang had no answer for Alvin in the final quarter!? The SF Warriors went on to win the game going away, 74-64!

Fort Knights (45) v. Threat Matrix (53)
The Threat Matrix make another appearance in TripleDoubleSports after a season where they were 2pts short of winning their first TDS title! Today, they’re taking on a familiar face under a new identity...Fort Knights!
The Fort Knights are comprised mostly of team Guap, the champs of a season ago! Why are they in this league again you might be asking? Well, they lost 3 of their key players (leading scorer Maynard, Prince and Finals MVP Brannon)! So, team captain Adonis will try and take this team to another championship and their first challenge is Threat Matrix! Adonis led the team in scoring with 12pts on 3-6 3pt shooting and Kent came along for the ride with 10pts off the bench! They led at the half, 24-18!
Threat Matrix, led by Chris Knight, were in for a battle! Like the Golden State Warriors, they dominated the third quarter! Erasing the halftime deficit and turning it into a 6pt advantage! The comeback was led by newcomer, Terrance who scored 9pts in the third quarter on 3-4 3pt fgs! Phil made the advantage stick with his 12pts! As a team, they shot 21-43 (49%)! Threat Matrix went on to win, 53-45!

Team Revolution (56) v. Make It Drizzle (51)
Another game with a couple of new teams we’re on deck for our finale of the night! Team Revolution, led by Jerrick Mesoga, took on Make It Drizzle, led by our score table veteran, Kyle! Which new team will be victorious?
Make It Drizzle wanted to make a name for themselves and D3 is where they would start! They had a pretty auspicious start! Hitting on 2-15 fgs for 6pts after the first quarter! Mark (24pts) and Jordan (15pts) combined to score 39 of the teams 51pts in the game! The rest of the team struggled mightily! Shooting 5-35 fgs (14%)!? If one more of their players could step up they’ll be a force in D3! They were down at the half, 26-20!
Team Revolution, newcomers to TDS, have actually been playing in other leagues! Took a chance to play in TripleDoubleSports! A dream they’ve been having for some time. They took their 6pt halftime lead and increased it to 10pts going into the fourth quarter! As a team, they shot 27-53 fgs (51%)! Yves Pangilinan and Marvin Mendoza combined to score 24pts and lead 4 players that each scored in double figures! Team Revolution withstood a late rush by Make It Drizzle to win the game, 56-51!

Final Four Sunday recaps, leaders and video!

🏀Final Four Sunday
🏀Semi-Final
#4 Saints (54) v. #1 Guap (61)
The Final Four is now upon us! It's been a long and arduous season with many ups and downs but after it all four teams still stand and in the first semifinal game we have the 5-2 Saints taking on undefeated Guap!
Excitement filled the gymnasium as the Saints took the floor! Every season they were the door mats but this season they were the ones busting through! Captain Mike Lim was excited that his team was in the final four! They had all their key players show up so there weren't going to be any excuses! Their "D" stepped up the first quarter holding Guap to 1-10 fgs (10%) shooting. Paolo (16pts) and Jon (11pts) combined for 27pts on 10-20 fgs (50%). Dave was again a man playing amongst boys! His 11rebs led all players but they were trailing at the half, 33-25!
The undefeated Guap squad had played this season flawlessly! They played as a team this season under the leadership of team Captain Adonis! I have seen this group of guys grow up from snot nosed kids to young men and their play showed it! After being down after the first quarter Guap bounced back outscoring the Saints 24-15 to take the lead at the half. Although, their lead was cut in half after the third quarter Guap showed their resilience! Maynard led the way again with 18pts on 6-13 fgs (46%) shooting and Adonis added 12pts and 3blks as Guap held off the Saints, 61-54!
Thanks goes out to the Saints for never giving up! Great season guys! Hope to see you soon!

#7 Bangarang (73) v. #3 SC Threat Matrix (76) F/OT
The second of our two semifinal games has the #7 seeded Bangarang, who in an upset defeated the #2 DRP Jets, taking on #3 seeded SC Threat Matrix to see who will face Guap in the finals!
This game was an old time shootout! Bangarang was in for a battle. With more than half of their players missing due to unforeseen circumstances the team had to fight to stay alive in the playoffs. The tandem of Drew (25pts) and Gelo (15pts) were handling their business. Bangarang shot 11-25 fgs (44%) in the first half. They were a blistering 5-12 3pts (42%) from behind the arc. Bangarang trailed at the half by one point, 34-33!
The SC Threat Matrix were on fire for the entire game! This game would have been a blowout hadn't it been for all those measly turnovers! They shot the ball well in the first half, 15-27 fgs (56%)! The Knight brothers played an all around game. They were 18-25 fgs (72%) shooting from the field!? Amazing! Chris Knight led all scores with 24pts on 11-16 fgs (69%) and Nick was 7-11 fgs (64%).
With time running down, Bangarang went on a 15-8 run to bring the game to overtime! When Chris and Tyler (17pts) were able to fend off the Bangarang squad! The final score was 76-73 in OT! Wow!

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
#3 SC Threat Matrix (41) v. #1 Guap (43)
The Championship game was here! These two teams have come from the depths of despair to living the high life! The #3 SC Threat Matrix defeated Second Wind and Bangarang to meet the #1 seeded Guap who beat Jackson Arms and the Saints! Who will be the first to win a TDS Championship?
I don't know if it was fatigue or just good defense but the Matrix didn't score their first basket until the 3:28 mark of the first quarter! They were tied at 8 at the end of the first stanza. In the second quarter, the Matrix came out scoring! The defense led to offense as they outscored Guap 18-7 in the second quarter to take an 11 point advantage at the half! Behind London who had a team high, 13pts and 3blks! Threat Matrix led 26-15 at the break!
Things needed to turn around for Guap! In the third quarter they did. The MVP Brannon (16pts) and Maynard (15pts) really picked up the pace. They combined to score 23pts in the second half! Guap turned up the defense as well. Holding the Matrix to 7-23 fgs (30%) in the second half of the game! Brannon was mixing it up with stealing the ball at one end to dishing it to (usually) Maynard for two on the other end!
The game was far from over though! The Matrix actually took the lead and with less than one minute left in the game Brannon rose up and drilled a three ball from the corner pocket to tie up the game! Next time down after a stop Brannon drove down the lane and dished to an open Truman for a layup and the lead! The Matrix had one last chance to tie or even win the game! London drove left and dished the ball out to Josh but Brannon came up with the steal to seal the game and bring home the championship for Guap, 43-41!
Thank you goes out to both teams for a great end to an equally great season! Until next time...

Round 1 playoffs recaps, videos and leaders!

🏀Fall Asian Rec Division Recaps
Week 8
#4 Saints (66) v. #5 Dream Enders (50)
TripleDoubleSports would like to welcome you to the postseason! In our first contest we have for your viewing pleasure, the 4-2 Saints taking on the 3-3 Dream Enders! Which team will continue to play for the ship and which one will go home?
The Dream Enders were up for this game! Shot for shot, rebound for rebound. The only thing lacking from their game was the ability to hit from deep!? They were 1-18 3pt (6%)! They shot 0-8 from 3pt range in the first half. Their first three point shot didn't come until late in the fourth quarter. By that time it was too late. The Dream Enders shot well from inside the arc at 19-38 fgs (50%)! Wilson Z. was the leading scorer with 16pts and Captain Michael pitched in to score 12pts. They were still in the game at the half, 27-21!
The Saints smelled blood and went for the kill in the third quarter! Their suffocating defense in the quarter proved to be the difference! They held the Dream Enders to 4-12 fgs (33%) in the third to extend their lead to 14pts! Paolo (19pts) and Captain Mike Lim (16pts) combined to score 35pts. The Saints played an all around game! Their shooting was the best they've had all season (54%)! They cruised to a 66-50 victory!
Thanks goes out to Michael and the Dream Enders for a great season! Here's to hoping we'll meet again!

In the second game of the day, we had the 4-2 SC Threat Matrix taking on the 2-4 Second Wind squad! With both teams winning their last game respectively, who will continue their winning ways?
Second Wind played a brilliant defensive game but offensively they needed some work!? They shot 3-12 fgs (25%) in the first quarter and were down 15-7 after one. Unfortunately, for Second Wind the second quarter came but their shooting did not improve!? The reliable shooters on Second Wind couldn't hit the floor!? Their best shooting quarter was the third but like the game was going for them they only shot 30% (3-10 fgs)! Arj was the leading scorer with 14pts. No other player was in double figures (Law scored 9pts). They were trailing at the half in a low scoring affair, 25-13.
The SC Threat Matrix took it to Second Wind all game. Each shot that they took was contested. They had a hand in the passing lane and were the quickest ones to every rebound (36-23). The Matrix were hot from behind the arc all day! They were 7-14 3pt (50%). Tyler went 3-4 3pt range in the third quarter to put the game away! Nick and Phil scored 11pts each and London was the king of the boards with 12rebs! The Matrix showed their dominance in a 51-33 victory!

#8 Jackson Arms (59) v. #9 Skulls (30)
In this season's wildcard game the 1-5 Jackson Arms squad takes on the winless Skulls team to see who will move on to the playoffs! Who will win to face #1 seeded Guap?
The Skulls started the game just like they started seemingly every game this season...poorly. They didn't make their first shot until the 1:36 mark in the first quarter!? Jackson Arms had already built a sizable lead, 24-9. The Skulls did get 9pts & 7rebs from both Neil and Mervyn! Shooting as a whole was a huge problem!? They shot 11-58 fgs (19%) including 6-28 3pts (21%)! The Skulls trailed big at the half, 37-12!
Jackson Arms on point! They had their best shooting quarter of the season to start off the game (10-19 fgs 53%). All the hustle points went to Jackson Arms! Their 11 steals went a long way and turned them into buckets! Sam and Hansen were a dynamic duo scoring a combined 41pts on 15-24 fgs (63%)! Shawn had an excellent floor game dishing out 5asts and nabbing 3stls! Their shooting fell off in the second half to 7-24 fgs (29%) but they still managed to add to their lead! In the end, they won convincingly 59-30!
Jackson Arms is now set up to battle #1 seeded Guap!

#7 Bangarang (61) v. #2 DRP Jets (47)
Next up we have the #2 seeded DRP Jets on a 2-game winning streak taking on the #7 seeded Bangarang team that are losers of their past two games! Which streak will continue?
The DRP Jets were in for a battle! The #2 seed was well earned as they played well all season long. They're good play continued in the first quarter as they were 3-7 from 3pt range. JR was their leading scorer with 16pts on 6-11 fgs (55%). The rest of the team didn't show up to play!? They shot a horrendous 12-46 fgs (26%) for the entire game! They were trailing at the half, 26-20!
Bangarang was ahead at halftime by 6pts and they turned it on even more in the third! Or should I say Drew turned it on in the second half!? He came out of the half on fire! Drew was 8-10 fgs (80%) from the field in the second half! He scored 26 of Bangarang's 35 points! Russell was a perfect  3-3 from 3pt range to give him 11pts.
Bangarang shut the Jets down in the third and fourth quarters! The Jets shot a measly 11-37 fgs (29%) from the field. Their hopes for a comeback quickly faded and the lost the game, 61-47!

#1 Guap (62) v. #8 Jackson Arms (52)
The finale of the day pitted the #1 seeded Guap team versus a Jackson Arms squad that had to beat the Skulls to even participate in the playoffs! Will they have enough gas to finish the job?
Jackson Arms were playing on house money! Sam who scored 25pts in the Wildcard round scored another 25pts on 9-23 fgs (39%) from the field. The rest of the team was 11-37 fgs for 30%! Sam also had 10rebs for another double-double! The rest of the team was a little fatigued and showed signs of cramping up but they weren't going to go out without a fight! They went into the break down a bucket, 30-28!
Guap had all their players show up for this one and that was a good thing that they did! Guap was a huge favorite to defeat Jackson Arms, who had already played a game before, could say they were taking them for granted. Up by just two points headed into the third quarter Guap turned on the defense to hold Jackson Arms to just 10pts in the period. Maynard led his team with 15pts on 5-9 fgs (55%) shooting! Adonis and Prince both added 10pts & 6rebs each. Brannon led everyone in assists with 7 dimes! They were able to lengthen their lead over Jackson Arms in each of the last two quarters to go on to win the game, 62-52!

Saints (54) v. Jackson Arms (43)
TripleDoubleSports had an end to an amazing regular season! Winners of two of their last three games the Saints take on Jackson Arms!
Jackson Arms has the heart of a lion but they need a little bit more than heart! They need a second scorer to step up their game to go along with Sam who had another spectacular game had 27pts & 11rebs! The rest of the team tallied 16pts on 7-32 fgs (22%)!? That total was very disappointing. As they trailed at the half, 31-15!
Meanwhile, the Saints were the total opposite! The Saints had three players score in double figures led by Mike Lim's 18pts! Paul had 14pts and Dave came through with another double-double with 10pts and a game high 15rebs! Although their shooting was poor in the second half...it was good enough on this day! As the Saints won the game, 54-43!

Second Wind (94) v. Skulls (31)
This game was all about playoff positioning in this battle between two teams that are disappointed in their overall play. When Second Wind takes on the Skulls!
Nine was the magic number for the Skulls today as they scored that number of points in three of the four quarters today!? It wasn't from a lack of trying though. They put up more shots than Second Wind (64-62). They just were not going in the hoop!? They shot a season low 22% (14-64 fgs) and were trailing at the half, 46-18!
Second Wind was a team on a mission! They wanted to set themselves up for playoff seeding! They had 4 players score at least 20pts! Led by Barry's 29 on 10-16 fgs shooting! Ryan cleaned up the boards with 13 rebounds and Brandon dropped 7 dimes! They went all out! They shot a season high 37-62 fgs (60%) and a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line! That all lead to the dismantling of the Skulls, 94-31!

DRP Jets (61) v. Bangarang (51)
Our final game, before the playoffs begin, belongs to the one loss (4-1) DRP Jets versus the (2-3) Bangarang squad! Which team will enter the postseason with a victory?
The first half was played very intensely! With every possession being handled with care. Bangarang, only with the minimum 5 players to their use, came out swinging. They shot 0-6 from behind the arc in the first half. Their free throws were keeping them in the game (8-10 fts). Drew was their main man as he scored a game high, 25pts on 8-16 fgs (50%)! Daniel cleaned the boards grabbing 11 rebounds. They played the first half tight but trailed, 23-22!
The DRP Jets had their dynamic duo, Angelo and JR, on today! They combined for 40pts on 15-25 (60%) from the field. Angelo had it going from deep as he made 6-9 (67%) from downtown! JR took over in the third quarter. He was 5-8 fgs (63%) shooting to extend DRP's lead to 10pts! Which they would hold onto for the remainder of the game to win, 61-51!

🏀Week 6
Saints (48) v. Dream Enders (61)
TripleDoubleSports Week 6 was full of great games and exciting plays! The week started with the 3-1 Saints taking on the 2-2 Dream Enders in a battle of two teams streaking in different directions!
The Saints, who haven't lost since their week 1 defeat, are on a three game winning streak! They will be having a hard time this week! With having just four players suit up for them against a hungry Dream Enders team! Paolo led all scorers for the day with 34pts & grabbed 10rebs to boot! He was a one man wrecking crew and he needed to be! Paolo was the only player to score in double digits. Sean was doing the dirty work and also dishing the assists! They trailed at the half, 33-20!
The Dream Enders took full advantage of the one man advantage! They had three players score in double figures (Kevin, Will and Wilson). They out rebounded the Saints 38-20! They were hustling to all the loose balls! Wilson Z. led the way with a double-double (15p 10r) and Kevin added 13pts! Although, the Saints tried to put pressure on the Dream Enders, they were only able to get as close as 7pts. As the Dream Enders ended their losing streak with a, 61-48 victory!

Bangarang (56) v. Jackson Arms (53)
This next matchup was the game of the day! When, the biggest leader in our Power Rankings this week, Bangarang took on Jackson Arms! Both teams trying to win their second straight game! Who will it be?
Jackson Arms came into this game without some of their key players but they did have the return of Sam! Sam had himself quite a day. He opened the game with a 15pt first quarter and finished with 33pts to go along with a season high 22rebs! Hansen came along for the ride and scored 14pts. The rest of the team unfortunately didn't show up!? The duo scored 47 of the 53 total points! They trailed at the half, 34-29!
Bangarang came out in the third quarter strong! Their defense in addition to sloppy play by Jackson Arms equaled the deficit growing to 12pts! Mike P. followed up his double-double with another strong outing. He scored a team high, 23pts on 9-13 fgs (69%)! Russ and Jon combined to score 22pts.
The game came down to the last shot and with seconds remaining and the ball Jackson Arms had a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime...but they couldn't get a shot off and lost the game by 3pts, 56-53!

Skulls (33) v. Guap (62)
Next up we present Guap trying to go undefeated for the regular season and standing in there way are the Skulls, who are searching for their first win!
The Skulls were hoping for a good start to this game unlike all their other games but unfortunately nothing had change (without a lack of trying tho). The Skulls only managed to score 2pts in the first quarter on 1-10 fgs shooting! Neil was the leading scorer with 17pts on 7-15 fgs (47%) shooting. Without Neil, the Skulls shot 2-16 fgs (13%) for the half. At the half, they were down 28-13!
Guap, going for an undefeated season, was all business! They crashed the boards like no other out rebounding the Skulls 50-33! Maynard was outstanding with 19rebs!? That was the second bast rebounding number of the season! He also was the leading scorer with Adonis. They both had 18pts! Brannon was dishing out the assists. He found his fellow teammates and fed them the rock where it was easy for them to convert. Guap had the game in cruise control and went on to complete their undefeated season with a convincing, 62-33 victory!

DRP Jets (64) v. Second Wind (58)
Our last matchup of the day was between the DRP Jets, who suffered their first loss last week, versus the struggling Second Wind squad.
Second Wind has had a tough time in the Rec Division this season. They still have time to turn things around tho! With the additions of Barry (24pts) and Ryan (21pts), Second Wind should be a contender but it just hasn't played out like that. The first quarter both teams shot the ball well and it looked like this game would be a shootout. Brandon playing the point for Second Wind came thru with a nice game (13pts & 5asts). At the half they were trailing 36-33!
The DRP Jets were still stinging from the loss they sustained last week played this game like they didn't want that to happen again! After playing the third quarter to a stand still the Jets lost that lead momentarily  to only regain it after 3's from JR (16pts) and Angelo (24pts & 8rebs)! They salted the game away at the line! The final score was 64-58!

🏀Week 5
Saints (47) v. SC Threat Matrix (44)
Week 5 of TripleDoubleSports came and went and there were amazing games that came down to the wire! The first game of the day was a battle between a couple of one loss teams when the Saints took on the SC Threat Matrix!
The SC Threat Matrix were a bit tight when the game began. The Matrix shot the ball poorly in the first quarter (4-12 fgs 33%) but they were able to turn it around in the second quarter shooting the ball at 50% on 6-12 fgs! Justin went for another double-double (10p 13r) and London added 14pts & 8rebs. They were able to hold the Saints to 6pts in the quarter to gain a 26-21 lead at the half!
The Saints turned the whole game around in the third quarter! They turned up their defensive intensity! They were able to outscore the Matrix, 17-4 in the period to go up by 8 headed to the fourth quarter. Paolo scored a game high 15pts and Dave was there to clean up the boards with 10rebs! In the end, they were able to hold onto the lead and win the game, 47-44!

Bangarang (81) v. Skulls (51)
In our next matchup we had Bangarang facing the Skulls! Both teams are searching for their first victory of the season! Who will get in the win column first?
The Skulls were aggressive on the outset but unfortunately their aggression did not lead to very many points! Their scoring was almost tripled by Bangarang (26-9) in the first quarter. They played the rest of the first half well. Mervyn, their teams leading scorer, scored 11 of his team high 16pts in the first half. Vic (11pts) and John (10pts) tried to keep the Skulls in the game. The Skulls built themselves a big hole as they trailed 47-29!
Bangarang jumped out to an impressive lead with only four players for the entire game!? Most of their scoring came from two players, Mike and Drew! Mike had a monstrous double-double with 25pts & 15rebs but Drew had an even better day in the scoring column with a game high, 39pts!
They really kept the pressure on the Skulls! The Skulls are not built to overcome leads of any kind therefore the advantage that Bangarang had was too much for the Skulls to overcome! Bangarang won this game going away, 81-51!

DRP Jets (35) v. Guap (46)
The finale of the day was a battle of the unbeatens when the 4-0 Guap squad took on the 3-0 DRP Jets! Which team will still be undefeated at days end?
The DRP Jets were in for a battle! There defense was awesome but their offense was subpar. The high powered offense of Guap was held down to 27pts in the first half but DRP couldn't muster any offense either?! They went 7-20 fgs (35%) shooting in the first half! They were led offensively by JR who had, 11pts! They trailed at the half, 27-22!
Guap experienced some troubles of their own!? Guap had an all around poor shooting day as they shot 16-44 fgs (36%) from the field for the game including 5-19 3pts (26%) but it was good enough on this day. Maynard led all scorers with a game high 18pts and Prince had the high in rebounds with 10! They held the lead by two going into the final quarter. Guap turned up their defense in the fourth! They only allowed DRP to one bucket going 1-9 fgs (11%) and 0-4 fts! Guap won the game going away, 46-35!
