The Fam had a rough shooting day from the field shooting a miserable 12-49 fgs (24% from the field) while the Gators shot it at a 46% clip (17-37 fgs). The Fam tightened up the defense holding the Gators to 16 second half pts, but The Fam's offense didn't show up! They were held to 8pts in the second half on 2-23 shooting from the field (9%). Hapanese out dueled the champs, 56-54!on to the championship game where they will face (2) Gators! Should be a good matchup!

Led by Rob Herndon's 22pts and 'Dre Jones who chipped in 19pts! Rock Center couldn't find their shot in the second half of the game. The second half of the game would've been much uglier if it wasn't for the 11-15 from the free throw line that kept them within breathing distance of Team Pacquiao! The Dubs called time and took the ball in at half court. Two passes and the ball was in the hands of Jalen, after a pump fake he took a dribble to his left and let it fly. The Dawgs were outshot by Jumpmen (42% to 34%). Their poor shooting from the field led to their demise! Next for the Dawgs is the playoffs and for Jumpmen, they have two makeup games next week!

PayProTec (48) v. Boogie (41)
This was billed as a battle between two of the top teams in the division as defending champs PayProTec took on the boys from Boogie! The Boogie team took a 26-22 lead at halftime behind JMac (16p 7r 3a) and big man Jose (10p 8r). PayProTec shot a putrid 29% (13-45 fgs)! Their saving grace came at the free throw line (12-17 / 71%). While the Boogie team was a mere 2-5 / 40% from the charity stripe! PPT was led in scoring by Jason, who had 17pts, and Sean Caiola who contributed 15pts (6-6 ft) in a decisive 3rd period!

Boogie (71) v. Beastion (53)
In their second game in a row, Boogie wanted to get their mojo back after losing a hard fought game but Beastion was in their way! After the first quarter, Beastion held a slight 1pt advantage, 18-17...but that was all they had because team Boogie finally answered the bell! They out scored Bestion, 54-35 the rest of the way! Boogie found their shooting stroke! They shot 50% (24-48 fgs) from the second quarter on! Beastion couldn't find their shot from the arc (5-20 / 25%)! They drop to 2-4 on the season. The postseason is next!

PayProTec (91) v. Eagles (90)
This was the game of the day! In one corner there was the undefeated PayProTec team versus the 2-2 Eagles! Let me just say, the 3's were flowing! The Eagles were 19-31 (61% 3pt). Six different players hit a 3ptr! John Calara and Faro led their team with 4-3ptr each! That would have been great on any other day, that is...because PayProTec came out on fire as well! Shooting a mind blowing 76% (16-21 3pt range)! It was a very turbulent game with PayProTec leading by 3 after making two from the line. The Eagles called timeout with 9.1 seconds remaining. They took the ball across half court and got it to Law and with time running out he heaves a one-legged prayer and he hits nothing but the bottom of the net and we have overtime. They would trade buckets and Sean Caiola made two free throws to seal away the victory! Behind Sunny (8) and Barry's (6) marksmanship, PayProTec was able to outlast the Eagles, 91-90!

Dubs (66) v. Eagles (55)
After a hard fought loss, the Eagles were primed for a let down versus the winless Dubs! Trailing by only 2pts after three quarters, the Eagles ran out of gas as the Dubs, who had the fresh legs, finished them off, 66-55! Quez (14p 9r 4a) and Arj (11p 6r) did all that they could but they were spent. The Eagles shot a meager 29% (4-14 fgs) in the final period. While the Dubs shot 50% 7-14 fgs) in the fourth quarter led by Uriel (18p 8r 4a) and Los (14p 6r). The Dubs shot well from the field, 51% (27-53 fgs)! Hopefully, they will be able to continue that kind of shooting next week!

The Fam (46) v. Putties (42)
This one was an ugly game! The shots weren't falling for either team! The Putties shot it at a 30% (14-46 fgs) clip and The Fam at 32% (15-47 fgs)! James Soy (19p 5r 3s) was the only bright spot in an otherwise dreadful shooting game for The Fam. Jason and Bruce both chipped in with 6pts & 8rebs! Meanwhile, the Putties could not find their shot until it was too late! Matt Szeto had 15pts & 8rebs but 12 of them came in the final quarter! Matt Lai also came through with 10p 6r but that wasn't enough to beat The Fam on this day!

Gators (63) v. Team Royalty (36)
The Gators proved to be too much for Team Royalty to handle on this day! The Gators jumped down Team Royalty's throat from the beginning of the game! Mike, of the Gators, had 15 of his game high 28pts in the first half and Jordan was the man on the boards with 15rebs! It was total domination from the start! Team Royalty needs to find that go-to guy that they can rely on to go with Their core! Irish (14p 5r) and Erwin (10p 5r) were the only bright spots for Team Royalty who shot 31% (17-54 fgs)! The regular season is over for both of these teams with the Gators finishing at 4-2 and Team Royalty 2-4. Next stop for both teams is the postseason!

Strokers (51) v. GPC (46)
This was another "grind it out" type of game as the Strokers look to extend their winning streak vs. GPC! This was a close game throughout. The Strokers were leading at the half, 28-23. The difference in this game was 3pt shooting! The Strokers were 8-22 (36%) while GPC shot it at 5-18 (28%). Georgio led his team with 13p 6r 1a 2b and Ray chipped in 12pts. The GPC had a tough day from the field (16-49 / 33%)...but the game was in their hands! Tommy (13p 8r) and Steven (11p 6r) were the only ones to show up on this day! They'll need a all-out team effort in the playoffs!

MonStars (56) v. Hapanese (47)
This was the biggest upset this season, as the winless MonStars took on the undefeated Hapanese squad! Maynard (26p 8r) and Alex (18p 12r) helped the MonStars "shock the world"! The MonStars outshot Hapanese in every category: MonStars 35% fgs, 30% 3pt, 67% ft / Hapanese 30% fgs, 13% 3pt, 50% ft! For Hapanese, Tye and Tommy showed up late no time for warmups, and it showed! Tye still scored 16pts and Tommy had 12pts but their 3's were not falling for them! I guess it goes to show you...any team can get beaten on any given day...

Week 5 game recaps!

Week 5 Results
D1
PayProTec (77) v. Beastion (50)
Week 5 of the Asian Division One kicks off with defending champions, PayProTec taking on, newcomer to D1, Beastion! Although Beastion put up a god fight, for three quarters, everybody knows that a game is FOUR quarters long! PayProTec, led by Jason Rockwell (25p 6r 3a) and Arik (19p 7r 3s), proved to be too much for Beastion to handle! Shooting a blistering 32-62 (52%) from the field! Beastion, on the other hand, had a pretty tough shooting day. They were a combined 18-48 (38%) from the field! The only bright spot in an otherwise dreary day went to Tyler who had a game high 30pts on 9-18 shooting from 3pt range! The only other Beastion player to show up that day was Nick who had 15pts! PayProTec continued they're undefeated streak as they improved to 3-0.

Jumpmen (60) v. Bomb Squad (53)
Without two of their top scorers (Nick & Matty Wong) Bomb Squad still put in a good effort only to lose in the end, 60-53! Jumpmen was led by Joe Scott (27p 4-8 3pt) and Dwight (12p 5r 4a). The difference in the game was from beyond the arc! Shooting from the field (Jmen 37% / BS 38%) and the free throw line (Jmen 64% / BS 68%) were virtually identical! Jumpmen was 8-25 (32%) while Bomb Squad was a meager 2-12 (17%) from 3pt range! The Bomb Squad team was led by Randall (15p 5r) and Kevin Ho who had 10p 8r! Good effort put forth by both teams!

Dawgs (58) v. Eagles (40)
Grrrr! Do you hear that growling in the distance getting closer? Well, you should cuz that growling is coming from the Dawgs who always tend to play their best ball around this time! Ryan Sera (Dawgs) was going bonkers with 21pts in the 1st half (29pts for the game)! The hoop must've been looking like the size of a hula hoop! Jalen was no slouch himself scoring 16pts while grabbing 8rebs! The Eagles on the other hand were without their point guards in Maynard and Quez! Without them the Eagles had nobody that could initiate the offense! Which explains they're terrible shooting day (16-47 34%)! The Eagles will have two chances to make up for it next week!

Boogie (76) v. Dubs (62)
Two solid teams both looking for their first victory of the season pits Boogie versus the Dubs! Amazingly, both teams shot exactly the same percentages from the field (28-59 47%) AND the 3pt line (6-21 29%)! The difference of the game came from the more aggressive Boogie team! When their shot wasn't falling they would take the ball in and drive the lane looking for contact...and more often then not, there was some contact! The Boogie team was 14-20 (70%) from the free throw line where the Dubs were just 0-1. The difference from the line was the difference in the game (14pts)! Led by Sam Allen's 25pts (including 9-10 from the line) and Adonis 12p 4s the Boogie team beat the Dubs, 76-62!

D2
Gators (68) v. The Fam (60)
This first match in the D2 division saw two teams going in different directions! The Fam is coming off their first loss of the season while the Gators are looking for their third straight win! The first half played really tight as the Gators held a 34-33 lead! The difference in the game was the balanced scoring of the Gators versus the James-Bruce-George show for The Fam! The Gators had contributions in scoring from every player! Led by Dennis (17pts), Mike (14pts) and the Gators complementary players they were able to hold on to the lead and win the right game, 68-60!

Putties (55) v. Team Royalty (32)
"It's not a sprint" is the montra the Putties are going by this season! After a slow start, this matchup with Team Royalty brings them a step closer to their ultimate goal! Matt Szeto (14p 6r 2a 1b) played his best game of the season thus far! The Putties played they're normal "Puttyball", having 5 players score at least 7pts! After shocking the world Team Royalty is slowly coming back to Earth!  They received good contributions from Ian (10p 6r) and a double-double by Irish (10p 10r) but didn't get much help from the rest of the team in a 55-32 loss!

Hapanese (59) v. GPC (57)
This game was the most competitive game of the day! As Hapanese took on GPC! GPC jumped out to a 19-13 lead after the first quarter but fell behind at the half 35-32! The difference in the game was the field goal shooting (Hapanese - 51%; GPC - 40%)! Hapanese was once again led by "TnT", Tye and Tommy who combined for 41pts! GPC received a nice game from Steven (18p 6r 3a 1s) and from Brian T. (10p 4r 3a 1s 1b). The outcome could have been different if Tommy Doan had been there for the whole game! Alas, he wasn't and the Hapanese (4-0) won fair and square!

Strokers (85) v. MonStars (44)
The finale of the week was a matchup between the defending champion Strokers versus the young MonStars! After opening up the season with a loss the Strokers were looking to win their third straight win! The MonStars are yet to play a complete game! This time it was the third quarter (outscored 21-2) that led to their defeat. The Strokers were consistently good throughout. Lloyd led his team with 15p (5-10 3pt shooting) and Cam chipped in with 12pts. The Strokers are making the league notice them once again. They can't sneak up on people anymore. They are no longer the hunter...they are the hunted!
