A.T.N.T. wins in battle of first place teams
Prodigies (38) vs. A.T.N.T. (43)
This game featured two of the leagues best teams. The Western Conference leading Prodigies brought their undefeated record into the fray against the Eastern Conference leaders A.T.N.T. This was a battle from the opening tip. The Prodigies jumped out to an early lead behind the stellar play of Matt Lee, scoring 11 of his team high 18 points in the first quarter. On the other side, the athletic play of Tigg (22pts, 7rebs, 3blks) brought the fans to their feet and his play kept A.T.N.T. in the game until the cavalry arrived. Halftime score Prodigies led, 24-21. As the halftime break ended, A.T.N.T.’s cavalry came strolling through the doors. The cavalry entered the game in the form of 6’8” Duke. The difference Duke brought to the game was noticed immediately, contesting shot after shot, the Prodigies team scored a mere four points in the entire 3rd quarter and their 3pt halftime lead became a 34-28 deficit going into the final quarter. The Prodigies made a last ditch effort to get back in the game by playing a scrambling type offense. Speeding up the game kept A.T.N.T.’s big men on their heels allowing Prodigies big man Dennis Yuen to score six huge points in the final minutes which closed the gap to one point, but that is as close as the Prodigies would get as A.T.N.T. held on for a 43-38 victory. Taraz Lee contributed his usual all around game (6pts, 7rebs, 5asts) once again threatening to post the first triple-double in tripledoublesports short history…
