Wheatley's big game not enough in loss to Dreamleague Select
Boogie Ballers (54) vs. Dreamleague Select (61)
Superman was in the building and he appeared in the form of Boogie’s own, Wil Wheatley. Wheatley put together a great game scoring 27 points on 12-for-18 shooting while grabbing a team high 8 rebounds. The Boogie Ballers took a five point lead into the half behind 18 first half points from Wheatley. Early in the third quarter the Dreamleague Select team lost team leader, Mike Hicks, to a leg injury, but his loss seemed to light a fire under his team as they shot the lights out in the quarter outscoring the Ballers 22-11. Leading the way was Doug Bitney (18pts, 9-for-11 shooting) and Ross Nakamura (9pts, 7rebs). The Ballers seemed to go away from what gave them the lead in the first half, Wheatley. He was held to just six field goal attempts in the second half converting on four of them. The Dreamleague turned up the defense and forced the other players on the Ballers squad to beat them. That gameplan proved to be the difference as the Select team took the lead in the 3rd and never looked back winning by seven and maintaining their tie for 1st place in the Eastern Conference with A.T.N.T. Looks to be an exciting second half of the season!
