Week three recaps!

The Week Three Recap

Game Video: TDS Week THREE

Jumpmen (58) v. Dawgs (46)
A severely depleted Dawgs team put forth a valiant effort today versus Jumpmen. The loser would move to 0-3 on the season. The Dawgs took a first half lead 30-26 behind the play of (G) Daniel V who had 10p on 5-6 shooting (finished the game with 18pts) and Dezmond Breaux's 12pts. The Jumpmen were down but not out. PG Dwight led the second half comeback, filling the boxscore with 11p 7r 7a 2s 1b 1t combined with a team high 17p from Jordan. For the Jumpmen...the season starts now!

PayProTec (69) v. Jackson Arms (48)
This game was a close contest coming down to execution in the second half and PayProTec showed why they're the class of the league. They out scored JA 20-6 in the final quarter to cruise to a 69-48 victory! Lead by Moe's double-double (10p and 11rebs) and newcomer Jason Rockwell's 12p 5r 1a performance. Jackson Arms didn't have enough juice to finish the contest. Despite going 8-20 (40%) from beyond the arc, JA's Ant Navarette finished with a game high 13rebs to go along with 11pts and Ricky had 12p 6r 2a 2s. Not quite enough to drop PPT from the ranks of the unbeaten!

Putties (58) v. Team Royalty (34)
Although going a paltry 11-23 from the line the Putties somehow pulled out a victory versus Team Royalty. Jason Ree lead the team in scoring with 17pts and Matt Szeto had 12pts as the Putties raised their record to 2-1. Team Royalty showed some life behind 10pts and 6rebs by Ian and AJ's 10pts but are still lacking that go-to scorer they need to really make a splash in this league!

Beast (51) v. Dubs (50)
A ferocious comeback fell oh so short as the Dubs lost a nail biter to the first place Beast! The Beast carried a 10pt lead into the last stanza but the Dubs out scored Beast 18-9 in the quarter! Jayson, of the Dubs, did all he could by hitting back to back 3's in the final minute and finished with a team high 14pts. Beast did all they could to keep the game close as they missed four free throws in the final :30 seconds! Tyler's 14pts paced Beast as they outlasted the Dubs 51-50!

Rangers (69) v. Eagles DC (61)
This matchup pitted two powerhouse teams as the Eagles DC faced the Rangers. The Rangers held a comfortable 15pt lead after three quarters, but the Eagles DC had a last push in them! After a 3pt barrage by John Calara (5-6 3pt) and Drew Faro (4-6 3pt) brought them to within 5, the Rangers used 11-13 from Nick and Tay to finish the game. Tay, who showed up late, but still scored a team high 21pts and Siao who picked up the slack by scoring 11pts and grabbing 7rebs. Good sign for the Rangers!

Strokers (65) v. The Fam (51)
The Strokers used a 16-5 second quarter to catapult them to their first victory of the season (1-2). The Fam played well but not well enough on this day. Jun started off the game strong with 8 first quarter pts and Jason Tejano had an evenly played game with 8pts, 7rebs and 3stls. Lloyd led the the Strokers with 18pts on 4-6 from 3pt range, his second consecutive good game and Ray scored game high 20pts and 7rebs. This is the second consecutive game where Lloyd and Ray lead the team in scoring. If they want to get far this postseason a third scorer must step up!
