GS Threat Matrix (56) v. Squadron (59)
TripleDoubleSports is coming down the stretch and is beginning Week 5! Our first matchup in the Asian Open Division is the GS Threat Matrix taking on the Squadron!
The GS Threat Matrix came out with guns ablaze! They caught the Squadron off guard and put up 25 first quarter points! Tyler's 3-3pters put an exclamation mark on the first quarter! Ricci led the way with 17pts on 8-16 fgs! At the half they led, 36-24!
Squadron was not to be outdone! They chipped away at the halftime deficit slowly. Outscoring GS Threat Matrix by 4pts in the third to cut the lead down to 8pts. The Squadron shot 12-23 fgs (52%) in the second half as opposed to 8-25 fgs (32%) by Threat Matrix! Tyler Petroni came up big for Squadron in the second half! He scored a game high 18pts (15pts in the second half). Squadron would come back all the way for the win, 59-56!

Boogie 2.0 (72) v. SFC (61)
The next matchup brought the SFC, looking for their second consecutive victory, versus the first place, undefeated Boogie 2.0 team!
SFC played very well defensively in the first half! They held the high octane Boogie squad to 11-31 fgs (35%) shooting in the half! For SFC, JT scored a team high 22pts on 7-12 fgs (58%) and they got a strong game out of Hong who provided some inside presence with a double-double (10p 13r). SFC trailed at the half by a single point, 30-29!
Boogie 2.0 was in for a challenge! They took everything that the SFC had for them in the first half, and they had a little extra in the second! They turned the tables on SFC in the second half. Holding them to 12-33 fgs (36%) to win the half, 42-32! Joe Scott led all scorers with 24pts on 10-19 fgs (53%)! Edwin, the hero from last week, held down the inside by hauling down 12rebs to go along with 10pts! Boogie did enough to win the game, 72-61!

SFC (71) v. Knights (64)
The second game of the day for SFC, who were trying to even up the record, was versus the winless Knights!
The Knights have had a strange season. They have all the talent of a championship contender but they haven't shown the cohesiveness that a contender has! A new leading scorer every week, which is good, shows they have the talent but it's the way they get their points! It's all one on one! A great game, individually, by Jovelle. He led all scorers with game highs in points (29) and in rebounds (14)! They have got to play more like a team and less like individuals.
SFC were loose from having played already. So, the early edge went to them. They led by 13pts at the half. JT continued his great play by scoring a team high 26pts on 10-13 fgs (77%) and Tyler (23pts) also played well to give the SFC team a much needed 1-2 punch!
SFC held on to win, 71-64!

Bombtans (79) v. Goon Squad (73)
The Bombtans, coming off their last second loss last week, come into this week with fire in their bellys, as they take on the Goon Squad!
The Goon Squad was a bit off to start the game. They were trying to combat the inside presence of Moe with outside shooting. One problem...their shots weren't falling! They were 2-17 3pt (12%) from beyond the arc in the first half. Justin Tuason was the man that kept the game within reach! He scored 13 of his game high 30pts in the first half but they were trailing at the half, 51-24!
The Bombtans were still itching from last weeks first defeat of the season. Which probably explained their play. They were explosive first half! The Bombtans shot a combined 21-38 fgs (55%) from the field in the first half! Led by Wai's 23pts and a big double-double from Mr. Double-Double himself, Moe (21p 15r)!
The Bombtans started the second half a bit lackadaisical allowing the Goon Squad to cut into the 27pt halftime deficit. Alas, the Bombtans held on, 79-73!

🏀Division 2
Beastion (46) v. SC Threat Matrix (34)
The Division 2 starts off with Beastion taking on their former teammates in the SC Threat Matrix!
The SC Threat Matrix played awesome on the defensive side of the ball. Holding the Beastion to 19-60 fgs (32%) from the field for the entire game! Chris Knight led the way offensively with 13pts and a two of their players grabbed 10rebs each (Mike and Gordon). Although they were holding it down on the defensive end, their offense had little to be admired...they trailed at the half, 26-18!
Beastion had an eight point lead after three quarters but this is where they usually lose that lead! London had an all around game (8p 9r 5a 4s) and Tyler came in with 14pts. Their defense stood their ground! They managed to hold their opponent to 16-54 fgs (30%)! With that, the Beastion held SC Threat Matrix off and won the game, 46-34!

Bulls (43) v. SF Braves (72)
Next up, are the undefeated Bulls (2-0) team taking on an inspired SF Braves Squad (1-2)!
The Bulls coach who just came back from a trip had his boys ready for a game! They were a bit "off" to begin the game. They shot only 6-28 fgs (21%) from the field in the first half. Which led to them being down 34-13 at the half! Robb (11pts) and Ant (10pts) were the leading scorers for the Bulls.
The SF Braves we're playing without their captain, Tone Arce, but they managed to play their best game of the season! With newcomers Evan (game high 21pts) and Dave (game high 14rebs) leading the way for the Braves, the rest of the team was relaxed with four other players scoring at least nine points! The Braves outscored the Bulls in the fourth quarter (26-11) to go on to win comfortably, 72-43!

Prodigies (64) v. Swishers (52)
Now we have the battle of the "undefeated" when the Prodigies (2-0) take on the defending champs the Swishers (3-0)!
The Swishers came out with a full squad against the Prodigies. Ronald Lee scored 8 of his team high 14pts in the first quarter and Rob was right behind with 13pts! The 3-ball wasn't falling for the Swishers! They shot 1-12 3pt (8%) in the first half which lead to them falling behind, 31-19 at the half!
The Prodigies were still up, 42-36 at the end of the third. Barry Lee led all scorers with 16pts and Ryan (13pts) and Arj closed out the game scoring a combined 15pts in the fourth and final quarter. The Prodigies scored the upset of the defending champs, 64-52!

Dawgs (55) v. Rock Center (50)
After a long day of games, the Dawgs are ready to take on the upstart Rock Center squad!
Rock Center was looking to even up their record with a win today and they started the day off right! Cris Pineda (12pts) and Jay (26pts) each scored 6pts to give Rock Center the early lead, 14-8! The Dawgs evened up the score, 20-20 at the half!
The Dawgs played even through the third (13-13) although they thought they weren't getting many calls their used to getting. Ryan Sera took it upon himself in the fourth quarter! He scored 14 of his game high 26pts in the fourth!
He and Jay (of Rock Center) were going shot for shot in the final period. The difference is Ryan teammates scored for the Dawgs! Where Jay was on an island by himself! The Dawgs went on to win a close one, 55-50!
