(3) United Nations v. (1) The Yay
The final game of the season took place as (1) The Yay faced (3) United Nations! This is set up to be an epic battle! The Yay looking to finish off an undefeated season for the second consecutive season and United Nations coming off an upset of Boogie Events in the last round! United Nations jumped out ahead 18-13 after the first quarter and maintained the lead through halftime 24-18! Behind the play of Joe (MVP) who scored a team high 15pts and Ruben added 13pts, the UN kept the lead for three quarters! They shot 15-34 (44%) fgs from the field and 15-20 (75%) from the line which kept them in the game late in the fourth quarter. The Yay, behind Isaiah's 22pts, kept the game close! They shot a respectable 19-41 (46%) from the field. The UN were up 47-44 with :35 seconds remaining when The Yay ran a screen for Isaiah who calmly hit a three pointer to tie the contest at 47 apiece but UN had the last possession! They had Joe with the ball checking the clock and with seconds left on the clock he got the ball into Ruben on the block who took a fadeaway from 10ft and came up short but JRock was "Johnny on the spot" and alertly tipped the rebound into Sunny who made a layup with :02.2 left on the clock! The Yay still had a shot at winning the game and Marquel took the shot but came up a bit short! The United Nations are the champions, 49-47! Congratulations go out to both teams! Thank you for a great season!
