Run 'n' Gun triumphs over undersized Ballers for Championship

FINALS RECAP

Unfortunately, this game did not live up to the excitement of the semi-final games. For one reason, and one reason only...Run 'n' Gun's size was too much for the Ballers to overcome. The Ballers entered the game without three of their big men, Anthony "Slug" Silvestri, Dalyn Pacheco and Conrad Fox. Fox was lost due to an injury sustained on a game saving block in the semifinal game.

Run 'n' Gun took advantage of the situation immediately, repeatedly taking the ball to the hoop and scoring uncontested lay-ups. Leading the way for the team was MVP Steve Johnson. Johnson scored a game high 25pts which help build a 46-17 halftime lead for RnG.

The Ballers did their best to keep up with RnG. A nice game by team captain Tim Wang, as he left it all out on the floor, scoring a team high 21pts. Wang's aggressive, never say die attitude, was not enough to inspire his team. Even with the efforts of teammates Ryan Tana (12pts) and Patrick Crowley (14pts), the Ballers lack of an inside presence was a glaring deficiency that was taken full advantage of.

Putting the nail in the coffin of the Ballers were Brian "BT" Thompson (20pts) and Cel (23pts). RnG stretched out their halftime lead and cruised to an 83-57 rout of the Ballers.

Congratulations to Run 'n' Gun as they become the inaugural tripledoublesports OPEN DIVISION CHAMPIONS!
