The playoff round begins with a matchup between #7 Rock Center versus #10 Fly Squad in the first play-in game. Both teams were short a player and started the game 4-on-4! The Fly Squad was a little bit off their game on Sunday. Everyone but Ivan Dorsey, that is. Dorsey scored 25 of his teams 28 1st half points on his way to a game high 40pt effort! Meanwhile, Rock Center had more of a balanced attack. Brett scored 15 of his 29pts in the first half and Brain G. went for 23pts (21pts in the second half). The first half ended with Rock Center leading, 30-28! There was no stopping Rock Center in the second half! As a team, they outshot Fly Squad 62% to 32% and outscored them 42-24! The rest of the Fly Squad only scored 13pts! They needed a second scorer to make the game competitive! Rock Center moved on to the next round by winning, 73-53! Thanks to Fly Squad! See you guys next season!

#4 Go Get It (56) v. #5 Squadron (60)
We get started with Go Get It versus the Squadron team! The Go Get It team jumped out to an 18-11 1st quarter lead behind 10pts from Jason Rockwell. Meanwhile, the Squadron team shot 6-19 fgs (32%) in the first half. Go Get It led at the half, 25-17! All things changed for Squadron in the second half. Squadron came out on fire in the second half! Go Get It tried to get back in the game but were unable to. Their 3pt shooting, which is usually their strong suit, let them down in the second half (2-10 3pt). A failed late comeback was all they could muster! As Squadron, the 5th seed, upset Go Get It, 60-56!

#4 SF Flight (43) v. #5 Beastion (40)
In this #4 vs. #5 battle, the #5 seeds have gone on to win in the Open and in D1! Will the same happen in D2? SF Flight was going to try to change that versus Beastion! But Beastion had other ideas! They came out strong to the tune of 16-4 after the first quarter! It was an uphill battle from then on. London, of Beastion, showed up in the first half with 10pts! Beastion was leading at the first half, 27-18! In the third quarter, Beastion was able to lengthen their lead by one point! With a 10pt lead going into the fourth Beastion seemed to let their foot off the gas and allowed Flight back in the game! Law Johns showed up big! He had 12pts in the second half and led his squad to a 15-2 4th quarter and with time running out Law hit a 3pter to win the game, 43-40!

#8 Dawgs (50) v. #9 Kanji-Ka (47)
With the #7 seed already winning, the winner of this game will play the #1 seed! So, the Dawgs and Kanji-Ka knew who they were going to play with a victory! The game started off slow. Not much scoring. A feel out process. The second quarter both teams loosened up and both teams scored 20+ points! For Kanji-Ka, John (16pts) and Che (23pts) did most of the damage for their team! They were ahead by a single point at the half! Then the third quarter came along and Kanji-Ka went cold! The Dawgs outscored them 11-3 in the quarter to take a 7pt lead! Che almost brought Kanji-Ka all the way back with his 3pt arsenal (7-11 3pt) but fell a bit short. Losing by 3pts, 50-47!

Next up, we have the Swishers playing in the second round versus Xia Yu! These teams are very familiar with one another being from the same family (Squadron)! This was a tightly played game where neither team could build a big lead. Dorian, of Xia Yu, scored 17 of his 27pts in the first half. Xia Yu was up at halftime, 27-25! The second half was a dogfight! Both teams trading buckets. For the Swishers, Travis Hom (21p 9r) and Steven Tom (15p 5r) did everything they could do but unfortunately wasn't enough. As Xia Yu had an insurmountable lead that they would not relinquish! Their 2pt halftime lead grew to a 3pt victory as Xia Yu wins the game, 51-48!

#1 East Bay Cardinals (50) v. #8 Dawgs (51)
The top seeded East Bay Cardinals had a pretty "easy" time in the regular season but this is the playoffs and the #8 seed, Dawgs. They were without a couple of their key members last week when they met and were demolished by the Cardinals! The Dawgs wanted revenge to prove that they were still one of the top dogs in the division! The Dawgs put it on the Cardinals in the first half! Ryan Sera scored 13 of his 18pts in the half to put the Dawgs up 33-18 at the break! The Cardinals weren't done, by a long shot! They were out to prove the regular season was not a fluke! Nate Bevau scored a game high, 20pts, and Jalen Betonga registered a double-double (18p 10r)! It was a galant effort but they fell to the Dawgs by a single point, 51-50!

The final game of a long day was the #3 ranked Splash Kuyas versus the #6 Putties! The Putties had 6 players to the Splash Kuyas 5, but that's as far as their advantages go! The Putties "shot themselves in the foot" by going 1-15 3pt (7% ouch!) in the first half! They were down big at the half, 34-10! Jmac (14pts) and JJ (16pts) did combine for 30pts but it came mostly in garbage time! The Splash Kuyas showed their dominance on the boards by out rebounding the Putties, 35-22! Warren messed around and got a double-double (12p 13r) and DeAndre had a  nice floor game 16pts, 5rebs and 5asts! The Splash Kuyas cruised to an easy 20pt victory, 62-42!
