Run 'n' Gun double up on Year Up

Run ‘n’ Gun (85) vs. Year Up (38)

Tris-kai-dek-a-pho-bi-a (noun) – fear or a phobia of the number 13. Team Year Up may be suffering from this affliction after their contest with Run ‘n’ Gun. The Run ‘n’ Gun squad jumped on Year Up from the opening tip. Behind Relly “All I do is shoot 3’s” Williams, Run ‘n’ Gun turned a 21-11 1st quarter advantage into a 41-22 blowout at the half. Ronnie from Year Up did his best to keep his team in the game with 17 points, unfortunately none of his teammates were able to pick up enough scoring to keep them in the game. The second half was more of the same with the Run ‘n’ Gun team extending their lead after each minute of each quarter. RNG turned up the heat with an all out full court press attack! Behind Steve Johnson’s 13 second half points and Big Smooth’s one-man dunk contest (highlighted by a pretty alley-oop pass from Capt. Jerry Showers) the RNG squad turned their 19-pt halftime lead into an 85-38 victory. Too many 3-pointers by RNG and too many turnovers by Year Up were ultimately the difference in the game. Why ‘triskaidekaphobia’??? Well, the Run ‘n’ Gun squad made 13-3pt baskets and made 13 steals…scaaaaaaary!
